  Ivanovo region is the native land of an outstanding Russian film director Andrei Tarkovsky. In order to continue and develop the traditions of this great film director, the philosopher, and the artist the Government of Ivanovo region has founded an annual International film festival “Zerkalo” named after Andrei Tarkovsky. We shall be glad to see you on our film festival!

  Tarkovsky is the person who changed cinema. He spoke about soul, he described the inner world of a man, he could find an adequate “film language” and with the help of this language he spoke about inner veiled things. That is why he is the most prominent figure in our cinema, the pioneer in it – and he will remain such a man. He will remain not only in memory of his nearest and dearest, but in memory of all those people who used to think – in life and in art.

  The festival is not only a festive occasion, but also a great work: competitive reviews, meetings with spectators, retrospective shows and even a scientific conference. It is a distinctive feature of our festival. Organizers of the festival tried to leave behind glamour and to underline true spiritual values, because these values should accompany the festival named after Andrei Tarkovsky.
