    Born in 1946 in California, USA. Began his movie career in the lighting department and for nearly 20 years worked as a gaffer including some Clint Eastwood films. In 2002 became Eastwood’s principal cameraman. Together they shot «Blood Work» (2002), «Mystic River» (2003, won 2 Oscars), «Million Dollar Baby» (2004, won 4 Oscars), «Flags of Our Fathers» (2006, nominated for 2 Oscars), «Letters from Iwo Jima» (2006, won Oscar), «Changeling» (2008, nominated for 3 Oscars including for cinematography), «Gran Torino» (2008), «Invictus» (2009, nominated for 2 Oscars). Winner of the American Satellite Award, member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) and the Association of French Directors of Photography (AFC). His works also include: «Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius» (2004) by Rowdy Herrington, «Romance & Cigarettes» (2005) by John Turturro, «The Last Kiss» (2006) by Tony Goldwyn, «Rails & Ties» (2007) by Alison Eastwood, «Faubourg 36» (2008) by Christophe Barratier, «Tenderness» (2008) by John Polson, «Tsar» (2009) by Pavel Lungin and others.
