MOSCOW, May, 19 – Information Agency “Novosti”. Ten movies will participate in the competition of fiction films of the IV International Film Festival “Zerkalo” named after Andrei Tarkovsky, which will be held in Ivanovo on May, 24 – 30, - as it was reported on Wednesday at a press-conference in an Information Agency “Novosti” by the Head of the festival programs Sergey Lavrentiev.

These are the following films. “Astropia” (director Gunnar Gudmundsson; Iceland-Finland);  "Himalaya, where the wind dwells" (director  Jeon Soo-il; South Korea-Nepal-France);  "Forbidden fruit" (director Dome Karukoski; Finland-Sweden);  "True noon" (director Nosir Saidov; Tajikistan-Iran-Switzerland-The Netherland);  "Cosmonaut" (director Susanna Nicchiarelli; Italy);  "Slovenian girl" (director Damjan Kozole; Slovenia-Germany-Serbia-Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina);  "House of fools" (director Eva Isaksen; Norway); "A man who ate his cherries" (director Payman Haghani; Iran);  "I believe in angels" (director Niksa Svilicic; Croatia).

Russia will be presented by the film of Evgeny Epstein “Resettler”.

As Sergey Lavrentiev says, the competition of this year has two peculiar features.

"The first feature is a great deal of premières. All the films but one are premières. Only the Finnish film had already once been shown in Russia; all of the rest will be shown for the first time  not only in Ivanovo, but in Russia. The second feature is a broadened geography of participating countries», - Lavrentiev told.

For example, Italy will present its film for the competition for the first time.

All the republics of former Yugoslavia except Macedonia took part in creating the film “Slovenian Girl”. South Korean “Himalaya” had been created with the support of French producers in an exotic Nepal. A frequent guest of the festival, a well-known Russian artist Yuri Nazarov played the main part in the film “True Noon” created in alliance with Tajikistan, Iran, Switzerland, and the Netherland. Iran also will present its film for the first time. It will be a film debut “A man who ate his cherries”. It is not the only debut. This is the third feature of the IV Festival,” –Lavrentiev noted.

Kim Dong Ho – Director of the Pusan International Film festival – will be the Chairman of the Jury. Among other members of the jury will be the Director of the Cinema Institute in Sofia Alexander Yanakiev, film director and scriptwriter Alexei Mizgiryov (Russia), and director of photography Tom Stern (USA).

President of the IV Festival will be People’s Artist of Russia Pavel Lungin. Chairman of the Organizing Committee is the Governor of the Ivanovo region Mikhail Men.
